Mike Moran
Born in Shropshire, I spent my youth on the Dorset coast, leaving to study at Bournemouth & Poole College of Art and North Staffordshire Polytechnic. Bristol became my home in 1989 where more recently I undertook an MA in Fine Art at UWE Bristol.
Since the 80’s I have had a diverse career in performance, photography, video and multimedia. At the moment my time is divided between lecturing at Bath College and working as a freelance illustrator and making short commercial films.

Over the last few weeks I have been drawing with graphite sticks. The marks are bold and broad and the act of rubbing back and adding more is very tactile and physical. I started to think I could incorporate this into some new illustration work here is an example.
